Prior to moving to Canada in 2016, he was based at CNN’s Asia Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong, where he covered some of the most significant breaking news events in the region, such as the haze crisis in Indonesia, the passing of Singapore’s Lee Kwan Yew, the crash of Air Asia 8501, the pro-democracy demonstrations in Hong Kong and the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines MH370.
