Evert won at least one major singles title every year for 13 years (1974–1986), including two Australian Open, three Wimbledon, a record six US Open titles, and seven French Open titles. With 157 singles titles overall and the best career win-loss record of any professional player in history (1,309-146;.900), she retired in 1989.
At the age of 15, Evert made her grand entrance into the tennis world and advanced to the semifinals of her first Grand Slam event, the US Open, the following year.
