Lee was born in 1966 in Santa Monica, California, the daughter of high school sweethearts Vicky Svitak and Wayne Waldroop.
Sandra and her younger sister, Cindy, were sent to live with their paternal grandmother, Lorraine Waldroop, when Sandra was two years old.
