Adam Joseph Bio
Adam Joseph is an American meteorologist who joined the Action News weather team in April of 2005, and is currently the weekday meteorologist on Action News at 4pm, 5:30pm and Action News at 10pm.
Adam earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Lyndon State College in 2000. In 1998, he forecasted and anchored the weather on LSC-TV for the first time. In retrospect, he laughs at his green performance, but he values the experience Lyndon was able to provide him prior to earning a degree.
Adam began his career as the Chief Meteorologist at WBOY-TV in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Soon after, he was hired by WSAZ-TV in Charleston-Huntington, West Virginia. He received the prestigious AMS Seal of Approval for Television as well as several awards for meteorological excellence while there.
In April 2005, he joined WPVI as the weekend Meteorologist, four years later. Adam can be seen on PHL-17 every weekday at 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 10 p.m. on Action News. He has contributed to numerous station specials, such as the 6abc Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Flower Show preview special, and the Auto Show preview special, to name a few.
Adam enjoys the challenge of combining a lifelong interest in weather with a foray into the world of entertainment. Adam appears on ABC’s Good Morning America when needed.
He was named Philadelphia Magazine’s Best Meteorologist in 2009 and was honored to accept the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 40 under 40 award for professional excellence and community involvement in 2011.
Adam is deeply committed to making a difference in the community and volunteers with Hospice and the American Cancer Society. Adam enjoys weight lifting, running, biking, swimming, spending time with his family, and simply making each day count.
In 2001, he completed his first triathlon in Richwood, West Virginia, and has since completed a total of 13 triathlons. In 2013, he completed seven triathlons, the last of which was a 70.3 half ironman in Bear Delaware. It had been his ambition for over a decade.
