Laural began working for KGW in 2000 after a lengthy career in broadcasting. She began her career as a news reporter for KSON radio in San Diego, where she also served as the station’s “KSON Cowgirl” by appearing in public. She was working toward becoming a radio “on-air” news reporter.
She accepted her first job in the television industry at KIFI-TV in Idaho Falls, where she produced weather reports and special reports dubbed “Porter Reports.” She held reporting and anchoring positions at the NBC stations WESH-TV in Orlando, Florida, KCOY-TV in Santa Maria, California, and KTVB in Boise, Idaho.
In order to assist children who were orphaned by the Civil War and to raise people’s quality of life in Northern Uganda, Laural is currently working with the Achon Uganda Children’s Fund. She got involved after working on a story with Beaverton resident and retired Olympian from Uganda Julius Achon.
