She began her journalism career by working at the Medford, Oregon-based KDRV (ABC). Her primary responsibility there was running the station’s Klamath Falls bureau.
Cook served as the Klamath Falls Bureau Chief and covered the agricultural and environmental issues affecting the Klamath Basin. Katherine then continued on to Medford to try her luck. She worked as a reporter and weekend anchor there.
