Carole Ann Boone was an American celebrity wife who was previously married to Ted Bundy, a kidnapper, rapist, serial killer, and necrophile.
They married the day before he was sentenced to death for the third time in 1980, and remained together until 1986. Prior to her relationship with Bundy, little is known about Boone’s previous relationships.
When she first met Bundy, she was married and had a teenage son. They were both employed at the Washington State Department of Emergency Services at the time.
She was immediately taken with the young, charismatic, and reserved man who appeared to be interested in her. Bundy was apprehended for the first time in Utah.
Faced with a growing list of homicides in multiple states, Bundy staged two daring prison escapes with alleged assistance from Boone.
He then murdered three people before being apprehended in Florida in 1978. Boone relocated to Florida to be near him during the trial and would testify as his character witness.
She gave birth to a daughter in 1982, who was allegedly fathered by Bundy. Boone stopped visiting Bundy in 1986, about three years before his execution, because the prison environment allegedly upset her daughter. They’ve both presumably been living under new identities since then.

There is little information available about Boone’s birth and upbringing. She was working at the Washington State Department of Emergency Services in Olympia, Washington, by the summer of 1974. Boone, dubbed a “lusty-tempered free spirit,” was smart, witty, and extremely competent at her job, despite her chaotic personal life.
Her former coworkers remembered her as a sister/mother figure who was extremely competent at her job. At the same time, she could easily descend into much silliness with others in the office, such as starting a rubber-band fight or rallying a few of her coworkers for a three-hour afternoon drinking session in the nearby Bailey Motor Inn’s Voodoo Room.
One of Bundy’s uncles had recently died when Boone met her. She had recently divorced and was struggling to raise her adolescent son, Jamey (James, according to some sources). She was also in a tumultuous relationship with “a large, unpleasant man.”

Theodore Robert Bundy was born Theodore Robert Cowell in Burlington, Vermont, USA in November 1946. There is no conclusive information about when he began killing because he never revealed specifics about his earliest crimes, instead telling different people different things.
When he came to Olympia for a summer job at the Washington State Department of Emergency Services, he had already become a seasoned murderer and criminal.
During this time, Bundy was in a relationship with a divorcee named Elizabeth Kloepfer (also known as Meg Anders, Beth Archer, or Liz Kendall in Bundy literature), whom he met in the fall of 1969 in Utah.
Bundy’s employment at the DES caused quite a stir, as both men and women found him appealing. Boone, on the other hand, was instantly smitten. She perceived him to be an introvert who carried himself with dignity.
She later stated that Bundy expressed his desire to date her from the start. Initially, however, they were simply friends. Bundy continued to date Kloepfer and a number of other women, many of whom were murdered.
Bundy was apprehended for the first time on August 16, 1975, in Granger, Utah, and was facing aggravated kidnapping and attempted criminal assault charges. As time passed, he was named as a possible suspect in a number of unsolved murders.
Investigators from Washington, Utah, and Colorado collaborated and determined that Bundy was the murderer they were all looking for. He escaped from prison twice in 1977 before being apprehended in Florida. He’d already committed three more murders by that point.
Boone and Bundy became close during his trial in Florida in 1979. Many believe she assisted him in his second prison escape. They were continuously exchanging letters. Boone even moved to Florida with her son in order to be closer to Bundy.
During his trial, Boone was called as a character witness several times. Bundy, who had previously studied law, was a member of his own defense team.
She told him she wanted to marry him in 1980. He later petitioned the prison, expressing his desire to marry Boone. The request was denied by the jail authorities.
Undaunted, Bundy decided to employ a little-known Florida law. Boone was called to the stand as a witness in the murder trial of Kimberly Leach on February 9, 1980.
Bundy asked if she wanted to marry him. They were legally married because it happened in front of the presiding judge. A day later, he was sentenced to death by electrocution (for the third time).
In October 1982, Boone gave birth to Rose or Rosa Bundy. There have been rumors that Rose is Bundy’s daughter, and if so, how she was conceived.
Although conjugal visits were forbidden at Raiford Prison, where Bundy was held, inmates were known to bribe guards in exchange for private time with their female visitors.
Boone continued to visit her husband, frequently accompanied by Rose. Bundy was placed on death watch in 1986, which prohibited any physical contact between Bundy and his family.
According to various sources, Rose was upset because she was denied the hugs she used to get from her father and frequently threw major tantrums as a result. Boone eventually decided to stop paying visits to her husband.
Bundy was executed in the Raiford electric chair on January 24, 1989. Boone had vanished by that point. She most likely changed her and Rose’s names and moved somewhere else.
