Michael Youssef Biography
Michael Youssef is an Egyptian-American pastor who was born on September 25, 1948. He is the senior pastor of Atlanta’s Church of the Apostles and the executive director of Leading the Way.
Youssef was born in Egypt, where he converted to Christianity, and then moved to Lebanon and Australia before settling in the United States. Youssef studied at Moore Theological College in Sydney, was ordained as a minister, and met his wife, Elizabeth, while in Australia.
The Youssefs immigrated to the United States in 1977, and Youssef became a citizen in 1984. He also attended Fuller Theological Seminary in California and Emory University in Georgia.
Youssef spent nearly ten years with the Haggai Institute, traveling the world and teaching church leaders evangelism and church leadership courses. In 1987, he established the Church of the Apostles. He has written over 35 books, including The Barbarians Are Here, End Times and the Mahdi’s Secret, and Jesus, Jihad, and Peace.
Youssef founded Leading The Way in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1988, with the goal of reaching Muslims in the Middle East. He is also the founding pastor of Atlanta’s Church of the Apostles.
