On November 20, 2012, Kennedy was found not guilty of misdemeanor charges of physical harassment and endangering a child in relation to an altercation with two nurses on January 7, 2012, at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, New York, two days after the birth of his son, Anthony Boru.
Kennedy allegedly assaulted two nurses when they tried to stop him from removing his infant from the maternity unit for some fresh air, as it was against hospital policy. Kennedy was the subject of a separate investigation by New York child welfare officials after the incident, but social workers found no evidence of child abuse in his home and dismissed the accusations in March 2012.
