Cristale Biography

Cristale is a British female rapper widely known for her viral song BONG BING. Cristale was born in Brixton, and she is more than your regular drill rapper, as she draws heavy influence from grime, spoken word, and soul, as well as her Caribbean upbringing.

Wikipedia

Cristale was born in Brixton around the turn of the millennium. She was raised by an incredibly strong family unit in which all members supported her hard work and dedication, which included but was not limited to academics, Football, Spoken Word, and Poetry.

While at primary school, she would compete against her peers in bantering rap battles, with lyrics she and her uncle had written together.

Invariably, she would win. In year seven, aged 1, she won the first slam poetry competition at her school, beating kids from all other year groups. From there, she went on to compete against kids from other schools.

Growing up in a Caribbean household, dancehall artists like Buju Banton and Tony Matterhorn were on regular rotation on Cristale’s family stereo.

As she grew up she took a liking to grime rappers like Chip, Stormzy, and Wretch 32, as well as funky house acts like T2 and Sweet Female Attitude.

Beginning her rap career at 19, her first four mainstream releases were freestyles: Cristale remixed Poundz’s ‘Opp Thot’, Pa Salieu’s ‘Frontline’, and Unknown T and Crazy Cousinz’ ‘Throwback’.

She can write lyrics to any type of instrumental, with a vocal style defined by sharp, attentive lyricism.

Having grown up writing poetry, her natural talent is as a wordsmith—a trait that aligns her with legendary artists like Lauryn Hill, who carries an essence of realism that Cristale is inspired by.

She has a similarly striking attitude on the mic as well, adept at riding any beat and effortlessly likable.

Her competitive spirit is perhaps a legacy of a childhood spent playing football, first at school, where she learned, then being scouted at 14 to play and train with U16s and U18s at Crystal Palace FC.

She is a very non-controversial individual- but she is not afraid of any competition she may face in the UK rap scene.

As a product of south London, she kickstarted her career by recording at Digital Holdings studios, which also gave rise to successful British rap artists like Dot Rotten, Harlem Spartans, and SL. Cristale is one of UK music’s hottest prospects.

She has singles in the pipeline and a treasure chest of unreleased music on her hard drive. Her latest release, “BOOTH (Part 2),” a freestyle over Ruff Sqwad’s classic grime instrumental ‘Together’, is a nod to Chip, a formative influence on Cristale, who used the same beat on ‘Coward’, and an unerring statement of intent.

She is ready for anything the music industry has in store for her.

Other UK Rappers to watch out for in 2024

In 2021, some of UK rap’s most accomplished heroes released the best albums of their already illustrious careers.

Dave, Ghetts, and Little Simz all delivered world-class albums, and it’s worth noting that the new gen didn’t fall short either—Central Cee, M1llionz, V9, and Digga D all shone.

However, it appears that 2022 will be a year dominated by newcomers.

There is an exciting new wave of rhymers who do not necessarily adhere to a specific style or subgenre.

Whereas previous generations were dominated by a single strain, the new generation is made up of drillers, road rappers, conscious rhymers, futurists, and artists who don’t fit into any of those categories.

Tribalism and gate-keeping are on their way out, and an energized wave of chameleons and experimentalists is waiting in the wings, ready to shake things up and blur the lines. In a nutshell, the year 2022 is the year of the individual.

She’s had the right people in her corner since releasing her freestyles and music videos on platforms like Mixtape Madness and P110 in early 2020, with support from the likes of Snoochie Shy, Kenny Allstar, and Tiffany Calver.

She even impressed punk-rock icon Courtney Love, who named her one of the UK’s rising female rappers to watch.

Cristale has also demonstrated her ability to hold her own among her peers, appearing in Charlie Sloth’s Hood Heat cypher, Tiffany Calver’s Abbey Road cypher, and Trillary Banks’ Hot Gyal cypher and leaving an impression.

With a cult-like following and the music industry finally catching on, the only way for this South Londoner is up.

Jordy Rapper

If you’re a fan of UK football culture, you’ve probably heard Jordy’s thoughts on the game via the popular Filthy Fellas podcast.

If you’re into UK rap, you’ve probably heard him finesse beats like a pro on a Vibbar track (he’s in a music group) or on one of his own tracks.

Last year, the North London native released SMH, a 7-song project that earned him a slew of praise from critics and fans alike.

There are a lot of “content creators” making music these days, but very few of them are actually good; Jordy, on the other hand, was made for it, with his choppy flow frequently veering off into grime or drill mode and his beat selection always on point.

When he’s ready to give up podding for full-time rapping, the scene will be waiting for him with open arms.

Career

Jordy is a member of the growing collective Vibbar, which is named after the Swedish word for ‘vibes.’ Growing up listening to artists such as 50 Cent and Ludacris sparked his interest in rapping.

Jordy then began listening to Grime; he experimented with it, but his current influences include Jay Z, Pusha T, Kendrick Lamar, Ghetts, and Frank Ocean.

If you’re a fan of Ghetts, you may have already heard him on the track Spiritual Warfare from Ghetto Gospel: The New Testament, which Jordy describes as the pinnacle of his career thus far.

Sainté Rapper UK

Sainté, who was born in Leicester, played semi-professional basketball before deciding to pursue a career in music while attending university.

It’s clear he made the right decision after the year he had in 2021. His effortlessly smooth, laid-back rap style was a hit on the underground after he dropped not one but two projects in Local MVP and Out The Blue last year, and if Local MVP was the introduction, then Out The Blue was, by extension, a statement intended to let you know that he’s here to stay.

Sainté takes you on a journey and demonstrates that he’s not a rapper who can be put into a box, sounding equally at home on nu-R&B beats as he does on trap beats on the latter 7-track project, which he collaborated on with artists such as A2, Knucks, and Miraa May.

That makes 2022 even more exciting, because it’s truly anyone’s guess where he’ll go from here. Sainté is almost certain to be the name on everyone’s lips by the end of the year as we slowly emerge from the pandemic.

Career

Seemingly managing both with ease, the 21-year-old bagged his first viral hit with “Champagne Shots”. Imbued with a fluid yet frank delivery, Sainté builds a musical prism weighted in duality; somewhere in-between the cocky one-liners and lyrical diary entries lies the nucleus of his creative driving force.

While it’s all too commonplace to call every artist unique, Sainté’s music radiates standalone energy. He has less in common with his UK drill and trap contemporaries and more similarities with cloudy Stateside rappers like Dom Kennedy or Isaiah Rashad.

Everything from the Dave Meyers and Hype Williams-inspired visuals for “No Love” to his carefully curated wardrobe—a futureproof take on what you’d see in an old issue of The Source or XXL Magazine—Sainté is stepping different to everybody else in today’s UK music scene.

SR Rapper

Carl Brown (born 1999/2000), known professionally as SR (formerly Stabber) is a British rapper that went viral for his single “Welcome to Brixton” in 2020.

Brixton is the mecca of UK drill, having produced early stars such as 67 and 150, and now SR hopes to carry on the South LDN borough’s legacy.

SR released the track “Welcome To Brixton” in November 2020—a menacing tale of how it goes down in the end—and just a few months later, it began to go viral on a global scale, with everyone from TikTokers to YouTubers appreciating its aggressive nature.

It was his first taste of major success, with over 35 million views on the music video and over 100 million spins across Spotify and Apple Music.

Since then, SR—who was nominated for Best Drill Act at last year’s MOBO Awards—has continued to drop heat for the streets with singles like “Practice Makes Perfect” and “Snap It,” and the masked one is on a winning streak with solid fanbases in places like Australia and Spain.

SR Rapper Age

SR is 24 years of age as of 2024, he was born in 1999, in Brixton, London, England. He has been celebrating his birthday every year together with his family and friends. We are keeping tabs on Sainté’s age and will update this section with more information about his date of birth once available.
