The month of October 2019 marked Chelsea Edwards’ first day on the job at FOX 26. She was born in Houston, but she spent most of her childhood in Missouri City.
She attended the Media Academy at Hightower High School, where she learned how to film, write, and edit stories, and it was there that she first became interested in broadcasting.
After that, she decided to focus on working behind the scenes while she was attending Texas Southern University and participating in partnerships with NASA and TxDOT, both of which enabled her to work in productions located all over the country.
After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications, she worked for the Houston affiliate of ABC for almost six years as a video editor. During that time, she also attended graduate school. In addition to that, she directed the TX21st afterschool program in the Klein ISD for a period of four years.
In the end, Chelsea made the decision to move from behind the camera to in front of it, and she accepted a position as a multi-media journalist with KWTX-TV in Waco.
After that, she took a job as a morning reporter at the station’s Bell County Bureau, where she covered news in Killeen, Temple, Copperas Cove, and Fort Hood.
Chelsea is overjoyed to have returned to her hometown and be employed there. She is looking forward to spending time with her friends and family as well as contributing to the enhancement of the environment in which they work and live. Chelsea is a married woman who has stepchildren and a chocolate lab mix to keep her from staying in bed for an excessive amount of time.
