She soon established herself in the community as a reporter and a local citizen before relocating to Syracuse to pursue her master’s degree in journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. While completing her graduate studies, she worked as an editor for Eagle Newspapers. Farah reported to the Syracuse suburbs on the north as well as Madison County.
2011 saw the debut of Syracuse Woman Magazine, the region’s first and only award-winning women’s publication, thanks in part to Farah. For more than four years, she reported on women’s health, education, politics, culture, and business as managing editor of SWM.
