Philanthropy
Shak is the founder and head of the Deal Me In For Jed Poker Event, a non-profit organization that works to improve emotional wellness and prevent suicide among college and university students. The JED Foundation was established by Phil and Donna Satow in memory of their son Jed.
Shak participates in a number of charity poker tournaments to raise money for different causes, most notably the “All in” for Kids Poker Tournament for the Palliative Care program at The Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania, which she co-founded. She serves on the Wish Upon A Hero Foundation board, the ShoeRevolt.com advisory board, and a committee for Gift of Life. She participated in the weekend-long LeSean McCoy celebrity charity event and supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
