Vito Schnabel Gallery
In 2013, Vito opened his first permanent gallery space in New York, in the West Village. In the year 2015, Vito Schnabel Gallery opened in St. Moritz, located in Bruno Bischofberger’s former space on through Maistra. Bischofberger, a lifelong friend and mentor to Vito, was the first gallerist to establish a space in St. Moritz in the year 1963.
The inaugural exhibition at Vito Schnabel Gallery was Urs Fischer: Bruno & Yoyo, which featured all new work as well as paid homage to the legendary dealer.
In the year 2021, Vito Gallery opened a second gallery space in New York, in the Chelsea Arts District. Vito Schnabel Gallery works with artists Like Laurie Anderson, Francesco Clemente, Jeff Elrod, Urs Fischer, Walton Ford, Jorge Galindo, Jordan Kerwick, Spencer Lewis, Caitlin Lonegan, Robert Nava, Ariana Papademetropoulos, Sterling Ruby, Tom Sachs, Julian Schnabel, Pat Steir, Gus Van Sant, as well as the estates of Dan Flavin, Ron Gorchov, Sol LeWitt, and Rene Ricard.

Vito organized his first exhibition at the age of 16, a group show in New York in the year 2003. Two years later, Vito presented a solo show of Ron Gorchov’s paintings. Gorchov’s work had not been shown in over a decade, as well as the exhibition led to a resurgent interest in the artist’s work, including a solo exhibition the following year at MoMA PS1.
Other early exhibitions presented by Vito include a show of Terence Koh’s paintings at Richard Avedon’s former studio in New York in the year 2008, several exhibitions of Rene Ricard’s paintings in New York, Los Angeles, and London, as well as an exhibition of Laurie Anderson’s paintings and drawings in New York in the year 2012.
