Nikita Nguyen (born January 31, 1996) is an American YouTuber, make-up artist, and model who goes by the stage name Nikita Dragun.
Nikita Nguyen was born in Belgium and graduated from high school in Virginia. She is of Vietnamese and Mexican ancestry, and she came out as a trans woman as a teen. Nguyen has spoken openly about her transition in a number of YouTube videos.
Out of spite for humanity, Nguyen joined YouTube in February 2013. “She stated,” she said “Around that time, I began to receive small brand deals… That was also the point at which I decided to take Instagram and YouTube more seriously.”
She came out as a transgender woman in 2015, when she was living in Los Angeles. She has over 3.68 million YouTube subscribers, 9.1 million Instagram followers, and 13.6 million TikTok followers as of May 2021.
Nguyen tweeted a video of herself modeling lingerie in response to L Brands chief marketing officer Ed Razek’s comments that trans women should not be included in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show because “the show is a fantasy.”
Nguyen argues in the tweet that trans women are capable of conveying fantasy.
Dragun Beauty, her make-up line, was announced in March 2019. The cosmetic line is also aimed at the transgender community, in addition to the mainstream market.
Nikita cites the fact that all of her products are vegan and cruelty-free as one of the reasons she decided to start her own business.
Nguyen was interviewed about her make-up brand on the LGBT radio network Channel Q in June 2019, where she credited Dragun Beauty and its products as being inspired by her journey as a transgender woman building her brand.
Nikita will star in her own Snapchat docuseries, “Nikita Unfiltered,” which will premiere in September 2019. The show follows Nguyen as she looks for love, pursues “a different path” in her career, and deals with fame as a trans woman. The first episode of the series aired on March 21, 2020.
