DeMarco Morgan Debut

T.J. Holmes’ seat on GMA3: What You Need to Know has been filled by DeMarco Morgan, following his alleged romance with cohost Amy Robach.

“On a Friday afternoon, I’ll take some Gloria Estefan. “Good afternoon, everyone, and welcome to What You Need to Know on this Friday,” Stephanie Ramos said during the broadcast on Friday, December 9. “We’re taking the place of Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes.”

Morgan, 44, then said it was “great to see” both the ABC News correspondent, 39, and Dr. Jennifer Ashton behind the desk.

After Robach, 49, and Holmes, 45, were removed from the broadcasts earlier this month, the former CBS News personality and Ramos are emceeing the morning show. The names of the twosome are still included in the prerecorded GMA3 introduction that begins each daily episode.

Robach and Holmes first came to public attention in late November, when the Daily Mail published a series of photos of the couple looking cozy. The broadcasters, who are married to Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig, have not commented publicly on the photos or the status of their previous relationships.

The former CNN anchor and Better Together author returned to work as if nothing had happened the day after the scandal broke.

“Amy and T.J. have been arriving to work pretending everything is normal, carrying on like it’s any other day,” a source told Us Weekly exclusively earlier this month. “The GMA staff, for the most part, all knew that something was happening between Amy and T.J., they were always playful with each other, like two people who were dating. Amy and T.J. didn’t seem to be trying to hide their relationship any longer; everyone in the office had noticed a spark between them for months.”

ABC executives ultimately decided to remove Robach and Holmes from the air on Monday, December 5. Ramos and Gio Benitez were then tasked with filling in on Good Morning America’s third-hour broadcast.

As Morgan and Ramos continue to discuss the latest news, the network has not stated whether or not Robach and Holmes will return to GMA3.

Morgan, for his part, has been a journalist for over 20 years but was hired by ABC News last month after working as a CBS anchor with the local Santa Monica, California, station.

“I’ll thank everyone who worked behind the scenes,” he said during his final CBS broadcast in April. “Thank you to everyone who gets up in the middle of the night to make sure I look good. This has been a fantastic journey. ‘There was a little boy in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with a curl in the second grade who was watching the space shuttle Challenger explode, and he was watching Dan Rather, and that’s when he was bitten by the broadcasting bug,’ I told someone last night.”
