Craig William Burley is a Scottish former professional football player and is currently an ESPN co-commentator and sports television analyst. From 1989 to 2004, he was a midfield player for Chelsea, Derby County and Celtic in the Scottish Premier League. He also played in the Premier League for Chelsea and Derby County.

Burley works as a studio analyst for ESPN FC, the network’s daily soccer studio program. He played football professionally and was a former Scottish international. He’ll have the same analyst role during ESPN’s coverage of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil in 2014.

He has been a midfield player and started with the Scotland U-21 National Team in 1992 before moving up to the senior squad. Between 1995 and 2003, he made 46 appearances for the Scottish National Team, scoring three goals, including the game-winning goal against Norway in Scotland’s second of three 1998 World Cup matches in France.

In addition, he played in 113 games for Chelsea in the English Premier League following his professional debut in 1989.
