Since his 1990 debut, Jones has worked on a wide range of assignments for ESPN. He provides play-by-play commentary for ESPN’s college football and NBA programs. Men’s and women’s college basketball, the NBA Finals, and the WNBA are among his previous assignments.
He called play-by-play for ESPN 3D during the 2011 NBA Finals and hosted the network’s SportsCenter coverage of the NBA Finals from 1991–96 and 2007–10. Along with contributing to the network’s NBA Draft coverage, he has hosted ESPN’s coverage of NBA All-Star games and the NBA Draft lottery. Jones used to anchor SportsCenter as an anchor/reporter and host ESPN’s NBA Today.
Since August 1990, he has been assigned to events that air on ABC. These events have included World League football, college basketball, and a variety of events on ABC’s Wide World of Sports.
