Barrie’s media career began in Wausau, Wisconsin, where he spent a year working for WJFW-TV as the station’s Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, and lead reporter. Additionally, he worked as a reporter and host for KSWO-TV in Lawton, Oklahoma. He formerly presented College GameDay on ESPN Radio before joining the ESPN staff. In 2018, he also made his hosting debut for the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
In addition to calling certain college football games on ESPN networks in 2019, Barrie works as a studio host for college football on Saturdays. He has also won three Edward R. Murrow journalism prizes and eleven Emmy awards during his time working as a journalist.
