Vanna Marie Rosich was born on February 18, 1957, in Horry County, South Carolina, near North Myrtle Beach, the daughter of Joan Marie (Nicholas) and Miguel Angel Rosich (father).

Her parents divorced when she was a baby, and she was raised in North Myrtle Beach by her mother, Joan, and stepfather, Herbert White Jr. (1925-2022).

White adopted her stepfather’s surname, a former real estate broker. (On April 1, 2022, White announced that he had died peacefully that morning, prompting an outpouring of support.)
