As a reporter for Radio Las Aguilas in Madrid, Martín started his career in journalism. Afterwards, he worked for Diario AS as a reporter until 1993. Onda Madrid hired him to cover the first and second division soccer teams in Madrid while he was a writer for the paper. In addition, he was a special envoy to the Barcelona Olympic Games.
