Audium Entertainment published Friday Night in Dixie in 2002. In total, fourteen tracks from Akins’ albums have charted on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, including the number one “Don’t Get Me Started” from 1996.
Akins has written singles for other country music singers, particularly as one-third of the songwriting partnership The Peach Pickers with Dallas Davidson and Ben Hayslip, despite not having charted a single since 2006. Thomas Rhett, Akins’ son, is also a country artist.
