Who was Pink Bradley?
Pink Bradley was an American celebrity spouse widely known for being the ex-husband of Mamie Till, an American educator and activist who was the mother of Emmett Till, the boy who was murdered in Mississippi on August 28, 1955, aged 14, after being accused of whistling at a white woman named Carolyn Bryant, a cashier at a grocery store.
For her son’s funeral in Chicago, Mamie Till insisted that the casket containing his body be left open, because, in her words, “I wanted the world to see what they did to my boy.”
