Loveland made the switch to WRAL (Fox 50) in the year 1998 to act as their news anchor for the weekday morning, weekend anchor, and writer for general assignments. In 2009, Loveland made a minor move from television to radio, where Loveland was co-host of Mix 101.5 WRAL-FM radio in the morning.

In 2014, Loveland returned to WRAL-TV from the radio as a news anchor.
